Come and join your colleagues from around the world! In addition to the working sessions and the main themes, UIA invites you to participate in social and networking activities. OPENING CEREMONY • 9.30 am – 11.30 am WELCOME LUNCH • 12.00 pm Wednesday, October 26 CICAD Keynote speakers: • His Excellency the President of the Republic of Senegal, Macky Sall • Dr Denis Mukwege, 2018 Nobel Peace Prize winner Several key officials will welcome the participants and wish them successful sessions. During the opening ceremony, the 2022 UIA Rule of Law Award in cooperation with LexisNexis and the UIA/ LexisNexis LegalTech Inspiration Award will be delivered. The ceremony will be followed by a welcome lunch, where you will be able to meet your friends and colleagues. Included in the registration fees INFORMAL RECEPTION Thursday, October 27 • 8.00 pm CERCLE DE L’UNION The informal evening will take place in a trendy venue of the centre of Dakar, at the water’s edge. Youssou N’Dour, one of the greatest ambassadors of African music in the world, will perform specifically for the UIA. Included in the registration fees GALA DINNER Friday, October 28 • 8.00 pm TERROU-BI HOTEL Located on Dakar’s famous corniche, the Terrou-Bi is an iconic hotel in the city. The gala dinner will be held in a unique space with a panoramic view of Dakar’s peninsula and the Madeleine Islands. An elegant evening with many exciting surprises in store! Price of the Gala Dinner: €150 per person CLOSING CEREMONY AND COCKTAIL Saturday, October 29 • 4.30 pm CICAD The transfer of the presidency from Hervé Chemouli to President-Elect Urquiola de Palacio is a key moment of the closing ceremony. During this ceremony, the Commission of the Year and National Committee of the Year Awards will be delivered. The ceremony will be followed by a cocktail. Included in the registration fees GENERAL EXCURSION Sunday, October 30 • 9.30 am – 4.30 pm BANDIA RESERVE Located only 65 km from Dakar (about an hour’s drive), the Bandia Reserve and its 3,500 hectares of magnificent nature bring the mythical African fauna within everyone’s reach. The morning will be dedicated to an unforgettable safari where you will be able to meet most of the mammals of Africa: white rhinoceros, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, monkeys, crocodiles, giant tortoises, ostriches, and many others. The tour will also provide an opportunity to see many baobabs of all kinds. After the visit, you will have lunch at a restaurant overlooking the reserve’s waterhole.
